It turned out that the town's high priest had been sacrificing people into a rift including the brother of Rian, our guide to the city. We investigated an issue at Arcamaryndel school. We thought we were being helped by the headmaster, but it was an evil doer in disguise trying to learn more about how the Mortal Guardians operate. I unsuccessfully tried to get a demon to unionize to avoid a fight. We fought the student, Rin, who had gone rogue and once he was subdued a hidden genasi revealed themselves and as this person was talking Max was attacked by the fake headmaster. The fake headmaster was killed and the genasi teleported away to report about the work of the Guardians. We were attacked by bandits who were trying to charge a "toll" for our travel on the public road. Following drag marks into the woods, our perception of of the forest was unclear with trees seeming to shift around us. After a fight with some strange creatures, a woman from the forrest, Old Fel, helps guide us to the ruins where our fellow guardian was being held captive. We investigated a weird house with many doors and picked a silk flower, fought a wall, Xena aged 7 years after sitting on a throne, and we fought a living library. BookishOddish Posted December 22, 2022 Author Share Posted December 22, 2022 12/21/22 Act 1 Episode 5: Daring & Defiance Met with Artem and Jozeness Frit adventured with Scout after an awkward meeting with Artem and Jozeness to investigate the Vaarelixian estate and possible ties to the Coven of Zul. We discovered a mass grave of experimented on bodies and thwarted an attempt to kill the Tiefling paladin Valora. We then bluffed our way into a house of healing where we found pleanty of healthy patients, and fought with cleric-cultists. Most of our friendly NPCs went back with the patients to help them testify as to what had happened. We then went with Valora and a man whose wife had been taken to investigate the chapel where we found a trap door and a secret lab where we found a young Vaarelixian and a mage experimenting on bodies.
